Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City announced today that the company is planning to invest more than $50 million this year for property improvements. Premiere Nightclub, a new venue slated to open this spring, is one of the most talked about improvement so far. The 18,000-square-foot Premier Nightclub was designed by Josh Held. Other design successes from Held include Marquee NYC, TAO Las Vegas, and Voyeur Los Angeles.

Chef  Michael Symon (Lola Bistro; Lolita; Roast) is a partner in a new fine dining venture at Borgata, joining other celebrity chefs on the property such as chef Wolfgang Puck and Iron Chefs Bobby Flay and Geoffrey Zakarian.

Additional amenities to receive attention include a new outdoor pool and 25,000 square feet of meeting and convention space. The conference space will be added in the 4th quarter and include two levels, with a 7,000-square-foot ballroom, four meeting rooms, one board room, one office and a pre-function area on each level.

The Cafeteria Food Court will be transformed into a casual dining eatery headed up by restaurateur and real estate developer George Siganos.  The new Marketplace Eatery will be located below Borgata’s Poker Room.

Tom Ballance, President and Chief Operating Officer for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa said in a release today that, “The constant reinvention of our business has been a core principal since entering the market in 2003, and we are pleased to continue developing the type of engaging product that our customers have come to anticipate and expect.”

Atlantic City sees most of its traffic during the summer months and this year Borgata’s new outdoor pool and entertainment grounds will be getting a lot of attention from visitors.  With space for 1,000 sun and water lovers (see video above) the new amenity will feature a unique and refreshing space with an entertainment stage, 400 chaise lounges, daybeds and cabanas, a full service bar under a canopy and a variety of outdoor activities all anchored by a new 3,200-square-foot Roman-style pool.

Inside visitors will find the B Bar and Boot N’ Whip Racebook bar experiencing a refresh along with maintenance upgrades at several restaurants. Players are awaiting a detailed announcement of Borgata’s original and exclusive slot to be revealed. The new gaming opportunity is coming at a price tag of $2.5 million.
