B2B Daily Fantasy Sports software provider, Global Daily Fantasy Sports Inc. (TSX-V: DFS), recently announced that it has further expanded its footprint in the Italian regulated gaming market having added the brands, Enjoybet and Betaland. OIA Services Limited owns and operates both of the provider’s new online sportsbook sites.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two brands will become part of the DFS network in time for the coming European football season, which gets underway on August 18. Leading Italian B2B service provider, Microgame S.p.A. (“Microgame”), having in February of this year become a customer of Global, will join the Italian network which is powered by Global.

The Italian licensed concessionaire, OIA Services Limited, operates under the Enjoybet.it and Betaland.it brands, in gambling and sports betting in Italy. The Malta-headquartered firm has extensive gaming market knowledge and offers an environment that is both innovative and exciting, along with a product offering that is highly competitive. The Betaland brand, having been established in 2010, has quickly become one of the Italian betting market’s top 10 operators. The company represents about six percent market share in what is Europe’s largest gambling market.

Microgame provides digital content to more than 30 concessionaires, a dozen of which, including OIA Services Ltd, have signed up to date to have access to the DFS network in Italy powered by Global, in time for the fast-approaching Football season. The number of signups further demonstrate the reach by Microgame in the Italian market, as well as the growing level of interest in Global’s network and product. The addition of the Enjoybet and Betaland brands means that the DFS network in Italy is exposed to 20 percent of the sports betting market in the European country where in 2017, 550M euro in revenue was generated.

Chief Executive officer for Global Daily Fantasy Sports Inc., Darcy Krogh, said, ”we are delighted to welcome the OIA brands to our DFS network through Microgame. Adding an established top tier market player to our network is great for all the participants and assists in driving further interest in our product,” according to the official press release (pdf).

For its part, OIA’s Managing Director, Michele Sprovieri, expressed confidence in the company’s choice for a DFS product. “The Global product is very innovative and we are sure it will be very successful with the Betaland customers,” explained Sprovieri.
