American casino giant MGM Resorts International is teaming up with multi-national sportsbetting and gaming firm GVC Holdings in order to launch an online casino and poker offering for players in New Jersey under its playMGM brand.

Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International already utilizes playMGM for its mobile sportsbetting services in Nevada with the New Jersey launch set to mark the first time the brand has been utilized for real-money online casino and poker games.

MGM Resorts International declared that the New Jersey version of its playMGM service will go live later in the year utilizing the latest version of GVC Holdings’ proprietary technology stack, which offers desktop and mobile variants alongside over 300 casino games including progressive jackpot slots and multiple tournaments and cash-play poker.

“This is a historic moment for MGM Resorts International, to be launching real-money online casino and poker under the MGM brand for the first time,” read a statement from Corey Sanders, Chief Operating Officer for MGM Resorts International. “GVC Holdings has been a first-rate partner for us and we are excited about the possibilities of extending that partnership as regulated markets open up in the United States.”

The parent company of PartyPoker.com, London-listed GVC Holdings already provides MGM Resorts International with software and support services for the land-based operator’s Borgata Hotel Casino And Spa in Atlantic City and has powered the 2,000-room venue’s online casino and poker products since iGaming was legalized in the eastern state in November of 2013.

In addition to unique in-house content, Isle Of Man-based GVC Holdings stated that the New Jersey version of playMGM is to feature online games from third-party suppliers such as NYX Gaming Group while customers will moreover be able to benefit from access to MGM Resorts International’s exclusive M life Rewards program.
