The year 2016 was a good one for the Mohegan Sun Casino. Mohegan Sun Arena drew over 700,000 people in 2016, making it the top casino venue in the world. The venue was able to earn a positive ranking in several publications for the year based on entertainment, earning the number 39 spot for concert stops worldwide as well as the 17th spot for all size venues across the United States. Venues Today, Pollstar Magazine and Billboard Magazine all choose the venue in their Year End Special issues for 2016 as a top-selling tour and venue spot in the world.

In Venues Today, the Mohegan Sun Arena earned the #3 position as a top venue for entertainment, the company of other quality venues such as the Philips Arena in Atlanta and the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In the Pollstar rankings, the venue earned the #1 spot in New England for entertainment.

Mohegan Sun Sr. Vice President of Sports & Entertainment, Tom Cantone, commented in a press release on the rankings stating that when you consider the fact that most other major arenas are must larger than the Mohegan Sun Arena, and that the venue is ranked among the highest of all casino venues, it is quite an achievement and a testament to the “best team in the world” that is running the world-class entertainment program.

For 2017, the calendar features quality entertainment for the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut with 80% of concerts that are on sale already sold out. Such artists who will be performing in the coming months include Miranda Lambert, Ariana Grande, Sting, Bon Jovi and more.
