In late summer of 2014, it was announced that several tribes in Oregon were preparing to create a new casino along Ocean Boulevard in Coos Bay. The new casino, Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay has been in the works for months now and will officially open  by May 2015. The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and the Siuslaw Indians are working together to create the massive entertainment facility and continue to reach milestones along the way.

The new  casino will be a Class II gaming facility and will not require a compact due to the title. If the property were a Class III facility, a compact would be required with the state. When completed, the new casino will cost over $5 million and will be home to gaming devices that are regulated under Class II such as bingo and nonbanking card games.

Because the casino is opening soon, final preparations are being made for the grand opening. There are only a few more weeks before becoming operational, with additional announcements being made by the new facility. Just this week, it was announced that four employees have been hired to work as property shift managers to help run the daily operations of the casino.

Mike Rose, the Chief Operating Officer of Three Rivers, stated that running a casino requires supervision as it is a complicated process. Rose has great confidence in his new team of Property Shift Managers that they will be able to handle the gaming operations of the facility and be the quarterbacks of the team.

Also announced this week by Three Rivers was the new partnership with International Game Technology. The Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay property will be using the Advantage 9.2 System Suite with Service Window for gaming as well as 80 additional titles created by IGT. The Class II gaming machines will be connected to IGT Systems and will feature the Point Play and Xtra Credit bonus applications created by the company.

Included in the additional gaming titles provided by IGT for the new casino are:

  • Dolly Parton
  • Lucky Larry
  • Lobstermania 2
  • Hott Roll Family

These titles along with many more will be available for players to enjoy. Large jackpots as well as prizes including ATVs, boats and cars will be made available during game play. More information on gaming, entertainment, dining and daily operations should be released as the casino moves closer to opening day.
