Success Universe Group reported loss of HK$1.9 million ($245,161) for the first half of 2015 in comparison with the same period last year. The company’s share worth noted a fall of 0.04 HK cents compared to earnings of 0.97 HK per share in the first six months of 2014.

Another decline was seen in the group’s turnover which fell by 13% y-o-y to around HK$595.6 million. Additional information revealed in the filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange was that the adjusted EBITDA of Success Universal’s flagship investment Ponte 16 decreased for 40% to approximately HK$155.4 million. The company witnessed fall of the sharing profit related to its main gambling facility as well; after a decrease of 73%, the shared profit fell from HK$57.3 million in January-June 2014 to HK$15.3 million in January-June 2015.

The Ponte 16 Resort in Macau offers 108 gaming tables out of which 92 are mass gaming tables, whereas nine are for high-stakes gamblers only and seven are reserved for VIPs. Additionally, the resort features 13 mahjong tables. The average occupancy rate at Ponte 16’s Sofitel was over 85% in the first six months of 2015. The operating company of the resort revealed that even though the market environment in Macau was “onerous,” their flag investment was striving to maintain its position of “being one of the preferred destinations in Macau for both tourists and families.”
