The $300 million Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort, set to open before the end of the year across the Back Biloxi Bay from Biloxi in D’Iberville, Mississippi held a job fair last week and planned to hold another recruitment drive on October 14th. After an overwhelming response to their first offer of over 1,000 jobs the second job fair has been cancelled. For those looking to fill remaining positions Scarlet Pearl is accepting applications online.

Before the job fair launched last week, Paul Terrell, head of human resources for the new resort told local media, “I don’t see a problem. I think the talent pool is out there. With recent layoffs and closings of other casinos, I think we’ll have plenty to choose from.”

Located  just off I-110 at 9422 Central Avenue, no exact date has been announced for the casino resort’s opening, except “sometime before New Year”. Construction is on-course, and ahead of schedule for some elements so the mystery is most likely down to marketing.  The company held a topping off ceremony on Friday June 12.

When Scarlet Pearl opens, visitors will find a 14 story hotel with over 200 guestrooms, 56 Luxury Suites, and 10 Penthouse Suites. A swimming pool and fitness center as well as a retail outlet and gift shop will provide diversions when more than gambling is on visitor’s minds. For outdoor recreation, amenities include two 18 hole miniature golf courses – taking the pastime to a new level.

The 60,000 square foot casino floor will feature 1,350 slots and video poker machines, 45 table games, and a 10 table poker room.

Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
