After yesterday inking a deal to provide a trio of upstate New York casinos with a range of management, marketing and customer service innovations, American gaming giant Scientific Games Corporation has now announced the signing of a similar agreement with German lottery operator Lotto Berlin.

Las Vegas-headquartered Scientific Games Corporation stated that the most recent arrangement will see it supply Lotto Berlin’s network of some 950 retailers with an improved suite of retail terminals featuring tablet-based technology while the contract is to additionally encompass a variety of maintenance, field service, training and product release services.

Scientific Games Corporation declared that it supplies its innovations to every one of the 16 state lotteries in Germany before explaining that it has been working with Lotto Berlin since 1996 by providing it with a portfolio of instant-win games and central gaming systems technology.

“We are pleased to continue serving Lotto Berlin by deploying innovative technology across the retailer network that makes lottery games easier to sell and more convenient for players to purchase in any way they choose,” read a statement (pdf) from Pat McHugh, Global Lottery Systems Senior Vice-President for Scientific Games Corporation.

For his part, Hansjorg Holtkemeier, Chief Executive Officer for Lotto Berlin, proclaimed that the deal is to include in excess of 1,000 retail lottery terminals that are to ‘suit every type of retailer’ before moreover stating that he was especially ‘looking forward’ to the provision of the new tablet-based technology.

“The success of the initiative was made possible only through close cooperation with Scientific Games [Corporation] and our Lotto Berlin teams and it is not comparable to a retail technology deployment for any other German lottery market thus far,” read a statement from Holtkemeier.
