One year ago, the Shoshone Rose Casino of Wyoming announced an expansion of the gaming venue, with $30 million to be spent on such areas as the gaming floor and a new hotel. The casino has now finished the expansion, hosting a soft opening on the 30th of September and now official reopened for business with the new amenities and offerings.

During the soft opening, hundreds of individuals from the community were invited to the celebration, which included a ribbon cutting along with blessing and drum songs. The new gaming floor was opened up for gaming and guests had already booked up the new 61 room hotel. Darwin St. Clair Jr. is the Chairman of the Shoshone Business Council who stated that the rooms available were already booked as the Wyoming venue had been successful in marketing the new hotel before the opening.

The new hotel includes an indoor heated pool and hot tub along with a fire pit area around the swimming pool with a venue for seating. The casino now includes a bar for non-alcoholic drinks, snack bar, gift shop and station for coat check-in. The area of expansion is connected to the casino as well as the Deka Guy Hee restaurant. Guests who enjoy the fire pit seating area will be able to view the Wind River Mountain Range.

The goal of the expansion was to create an upscale feel with St. Clair stating the suites along with the chairman’s room provide quality décor as well as views of the mountains. A state of the art ventilation system was added to remove cigarette smoke and prevent the casino from smelling of heavy cigarettes, since the facility allows smoking.

The project was originally due to be completed by May of this year but additional work was needed. The indoor pool and landscaping work is still on the agenda but should be completed by the 14th when a grand opening is scheduled. This is the time frame in which 425 gambling machines will also be installed.
