iGaming Business – Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the UK national tax authority, has launched online registration for offshore companies that offer gambling services to UK customers.

Companies liable to pay tax under the new rules for remote gaming duty, general betting duty and pool betting duty from December 1 are now able to register online.

Sally Beggs, deputy director of gambling taxes at HMRC, said: “These new rules mean that all remote gambling businesses, whether based in the UK or elsewhere, will be taxed on the same basis.
