Australian Gambling – Victorians may not like it, but there’s one team in the AFL that has completely taken over almost all facets of the game this season.

The Sydney Swans.

The other 17 clubs may complain about the extra money in the salary cap and the talented footballers that they have been able to acquire, but you cannot argue with the facts – the Swans are playing exciting, superior football to anyone else in the competition and as a result, they now control all the betting markets.

Premiership, Brownlow and Coleman – we’ve scoured the record books and we can not find a year in recent memory where one team is dominating the favouritism for all three.

Sydney started slowly this year and after a 1-3 start, were paying as much as $17 to win the premiership. 13 consecutive wins later and they are the unquestionable favourite with Sportsbet at $2.75.

Carlton coach Mick Malthouse went as far to say that Sydney’s list, which added superstar forwards Kurt Tippett and Lance Franklin after its 2012 premiership, was the best he had ever seen in his 40+ years being involved in the game.
