Here you are nor competing for the Hartford area customer, which the 2 Tribes already share at their Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, substantial destination resorts. And once before, the Mashantucket Pequot’s gave up their Connecticut slot machine monopoly, to let the Mohegan Tribe also offer these games. A casino on or near the Schaghticoke reservation, on the New York border; will produce much more in jobs, taxes, construction and tourism, than a smaller market already well served by existing and planned casinos.
