A 27 YEAR old Melbourne man has been arrested after allegedly fixing tennis matches in Australia and abroad.

The man was bailed by police on Friday on two charges of using corrupt conduct information for betting purposes and drug offences.

It is also being reported that five other Melbourne men were questioned in relation to the charges, but have been released.

He will appear in Melbourne’s Magistrates Court on September 25.

The charges relate to alleged betting activity on tennis matches where the outcome was known.

Tennis Australia told The Guardian that: “We take these types of allegations very seriously and are committed to upholding the integrity of the sport,” Tennis Australia business compliance and risk manager Ann West said. “We’ll continue to work with Victoria Police and associated agencies on this matter.”
