In Washington, the federally-recognized Kalispel Tribe Of Indians has announced plans to spend nearly $20 million in order to bring a new family-friendly entertainments center, retail outlet, expanded food court and recreational vehicle park to its Northern Quest Resort And Casino.

Located in the Spokane suburb of Airways Heights and only a five-minute drive from Spokane International Airport, the 250-room Northern Quest Resort And Casino already offers a 55,000 sq ft casino with some 1,650 slots as well as 37 gaming tables and a nine-table poker room. The Kalispel Tribe Of Indians explained that the expansion will add around 40,000 sq ft of indoor space to the venue in order to accommodate the food court, retail outlet and entertainments center while the recreational vehicle park is to sit on 17 acres of land and come complete with sports facilities and a pool.

“We’ve worked very hard the past 17 years to ensure our successful gaming opportunities create a thriving and sustainable source of funding for our government while providing our people with access to quality education, healthcare and employment,” read a statement from Glen Nenema, Chairman for the Kalispel Tribe Of Indians. “Throughout it all, our intent has been to diversify and build on a dream of creating a fun place for the whole family.”

The Kalispel Tribe Of Indians declared that the expansion, which is being handled by its Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority, is expected to break ground in the spring with completion scheduled for “early-spring 2018”. It stated that the indoor portion of the plan has been designed by Parametrix and ALSC Architects and will offer floor-to-ceiling windows along with a two-story circular beacon rising through the roof.

“We’re excited to bring additional family-orientated entertainment options to the West Plains,” read a statement from Phil Haugen, Chief Operating Officer for the Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority. “For many years, our vision has included the desire to develop the property south of Northern Quest Resort And Casino and create an even larger entertainments destination with a true sense of place and community.”

The Washington tribe proclaimed that the new entertainments center for its Northern Quest Resort And Casino is to be christened Cyber Quest and will be an adult-supervised arcade complete with up to 70 non-violent video games and attractions for children. There will moreover be the separate Kids Quest attraction for youngsters up to age of twelve featuring an indoor gym, arts and crafts spaces, karaoke stage and reading areas.

“For the past several years, we’ve been working on a master development plan for this property,” read a statement from Brandon Haugen, General Manager for the tribe’s Kalispel Development Company real estate and business developments management entity. “We believe the timing is right to move forward with this new venture and we’re thrilled to unveil the first part of a multi-phased mixed-use development that will continue to transform this area of the West Plains.”

The Kalispel Tribe Of Indians asserted that the coming development would create 100 new full-time jobs while declaring that it was committed to growing its Northern Quest Resort And Casino into “a regional entertainments destination”.

“We appreciate the incredible loyalty of our long-time guests and team members and we plan to continue providing the same four-diamond [and] four-star Kalispel [Tribe Of Indians] hospitality that our guests have come to expect from us,” read a statement from Nick Pierre, General Manager for the Northern Quest Resort And Casino. “We can’t wait to unveil the next chapter in the evolution of entertainment at the Northern Quest Resort And Casino.”
