A pioneering German casino operator, the Gauselmann Group, continues to extend its footprint in the German State of Lower Saxony. This family-owned Eastern Westphalian company won the tender for the casino concession in this German province to avail of the opportunity to run as many as ten casino locations there. The initial 15-year concession will enable the group to have these regulated casino sites operated by its long-standing vertical Merkur. The launch of operations is set for 1 September 2024.

15-Year Concession for Casino Operations:

Paul Gauselmann, company founder and Chairman of the Management Board of the Gauselmann Group reportedly commented: “I’m extremely delighted about receiving the casino concession in our neighboring state of Lower Saxony. Being able to clock up this additional significant milestone in our company’s history, just two years after taking over the North Rhine-Westphalia casinos, makes me and all the employees involved very proud and shows once again that we master the ‘higher school’ of gaming with and centered round money, and that we can act responsibly in this respect.”

Gauselmann reportedly added: ”Now, in autumn 2024, the task is to integrate the Lower Saxony casinos, with their roughly 400 employees, into our company and to welcome them to the world of Merkur.” Paul Gauselmann started the company in 1957 to be now operating as many as 15 casino locations in three German states. The success of the operations governed by the ”Germany’s king of amusement with prizes” is reportedly attributable to the operator’s concept setting quality, economic viability, and financial  stability at the forefront of its activities. These features were reportedly the reason to win the latest concession for the German State of Lower Saxony.

Set to Run Ten Casino Locations:

1 September 2024 Launch:

Under the 15-year concession, Merkur Spielbanken will operate the Lower Saxony casino locations starting from 1 September 2024.
