Flutter Entertainment, a leading name in the global gambling sector, has announced a significant restructuring of its organizational design to better position the company for future growth. This strategic shift introduces a simplified, two-division model designed to enhance operational efficiency and drive expansion.

New divisional structure and leadership appointments:

At the core of this restructuring is the formation of an enlarged ‘Flutter International’ division, which will encompass five key regions: UK & Ireland (UKI), Asia-Pacific (APAC), Southern Europe & Africa (SEA), Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), and Brazil. Dan Taylor, previously CEO of International, will continue to lead this expanded division, overseeing its strategic direction and operations.

Simultaneously, Flutter’s US operations will remain under the leadership of Amy Howe, CEO of FanDuelreflecting the company’s continued focus on leveraging opportunities in the American market.

In a notable leadership transition, Kevin Harrington, CEO of PokerStars, will assume the role of CEO for Flutter UKI starting January 2025. He will succeed Ian Brown, who has decided to step down in pursuit of other career opportunities. This change comes after Brown’s successful tenure, where he significantly enhanced the performance metrics of the UKI segment.

Peter Jackson, CEO of Flutter Entertainment, commended Ian Brown’s contributions, stating in the company’s press release, “Ian’s time at Flutter has been enormously successful. He has transformed the UK & Ireland business on almost every metric and he will be a hard act to follow. Kevin’s promotion is very well-deserved and the business will be in safe hands as we embark on the next phase of our growth plan.”

Kevin Harrington expressed his enthusiasm about his new role, remarking, “I’m incredibly proud to be given the chance to take over and run a business I first joined more than a decade ago. I want to continue the work that has made Flutter the clear market leader across the UK and Ireland and maintain the high standards we have set – with responsible gambling at the core of all our work.”

Strategic focus on market leadership and responsible gambling:

This leadership change is part of Flutter’s broader strategy to reinforce its market-leading position while emphasizing responsible gambling practices. The company’s commitment to maintaining high standards in its operations is expected to drive sustained growth and market dominance.

Under Harrington’s leadership, Flutter UKI aims to build on its strong momentum, leveraging his extensive experience and deep understanding of the business. His prior roles, including his time as Chief Commercial Officer and then CEO of PokerStars, have equipped him with the insights necessary to propel the UKI division to new heights.

Flutter Entertainment’s revamped organizational structure and strategic leadership appointments are poised to enhance its agility in adapting to market changes and seizing growth opportunities. By aligning its operational divisions under experienced leadership, Flutter aims to strengthen its competitive edge and continue its trajectory of success in the global gambling industry.
