The UK Gambling Commission, after some deliberation, has finally published the first list of approved Alternate Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes companies. Currently, there are featured only nine entities and the reputable independent auditor eCOGRA is one of them. The list was part of the published Competent Authorities and Information Regulations for 2015. The UK gaming authority is known for having strict licensing conditions and imposing very high standards to both operators and organisations that want to get its approval.

In addition to eCOGRA, a well known London based independent player protection organisation that has been actively working since 2003, the list features IBAS and Isle of Man Gambling Supervision as entities that applied for the remote gambling sector. Additionally, Joel Goldman has been approved as an ADR for all sectors, remote gambling included.

However, this list can be extended with other names since the Commission has pointed out that applications by interested parties are still being accepted. In case there is a successful applicant that meets all the requirements that make it suitable for approval, it will be added to the list.

Besides providing the approved dispute solvers list, the regulations specify the information required by those parties that want to become an approved ADR entity; the basic requirements are found on the UK Gambling Commission website. For example, applicants have to provide procedural rules, fees to trades, types of dispute covered and etc.

With the new approved dispute solvers published, all UK licensed online gambling operators will have to use one or more ADR entities that are included on the list. These changes have to be done by the end of the month or 31st of August, 2015. Furthermore, both gaming operators and approved dispute solvers must meet all requirements featured in the ADR Regulations. The final date for becoming fully compliant with the regulations is 1st of October, 2015.
