Foxwoods Resort Casino, operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, is preparing to showcase its latest attraction: a state-of-the-art poker room inside The Fox Tower. The grand opening is set for Tuesday, September 9, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. before live games get underway at 11 a.m.

To mark the occasion, Foxwoods is offering guests a chance to take part in its $25,000 Hot Seat Giveaway. From noon until 9:30 p.m., one player will be selected every 30 minutes to receive $1,000. The celebration will culminate with a $5,000 prize at 10 p.m., awarded to a lucky participant seated at the tables. To qualify, players must be Foxwoods Rewards members and actively engaged in a game at the time of each drawing.

A Reimagined Poker Experience

For over three decades, Foxwoods has been a go-to destination for poker in the Northeast. With the unveiling of this new room, the casino is doubling down on comfort, design, and player-focused innovation.

“The new poker room is a statement of pace, comfort and competition – delivering an unrivaled experience for every player,” said Jason Guyot, President and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, in a company press release. “From day one, Foxwoods has been about energy, evolution and putting our guests first.”

The space blends modern technology with player-friendly amenities. Guests will find 37 high-definition televisions positioned for easy viewing of both poker action and live sports. Every seat is outfitted with USB and USB-C charging ports, ensuring devices stay powered through long sessions. Deckmate2 shufflers keep games running smoothly, while Bravo’s player rating system helps streamline rewards tracking.

Convenience is also built into the design, with automated kiosks for quick seating and nearby DraftKings Sportsbook kiosks for sports bettors. For players enduring marathon sessions, table-side massage therapy is available to keep them refreshed.

Bryan Hayes, Foxwoods’ Senior Vice President of Gaming Operations, underscored the significance of the upgrade: “The expectations of today’s players are high, and Foxwoods delivers with next-level technology, elevated amenities, and every convenience imaginable. This marks an exciting new chapter for poker on the East Coast.”

Hours and Community Appeal

The poker room will follow an extended operating schedule: Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 4 a.m.

Beyond cards and chips, the room is designed to function as a social environment. Foxwoods emphasizes that it’s not just about winning hands but also about creating memorable moments—whether through friendly rivalries, bold bluffs, or tournament victories.

The new poker room is only part of a larger expansion effort at Foxwoods Resort Casino this year. In May, the property welcomed Connecticut’s first Great Wolf Lodge, followed in June by the debut of Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s Momosan restaurant.

Foxwoods will also appear on the national stage when season 24 of Hell’s Kitchen premieres in September. The previous season, filmed in Mashantucket, concluded with Kyle Timpson being named winner and taking over as executive chef of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen at Foxwoods in April.

This latest launch continues the casino’s push to expand its entertainment offerings while maintaining its reputation as one of the top poker destinations in the Northeast. For longtime players and first-time visitors alike, Foxwoods’ new poker room aims to raise the bar for competitive play and guest experience.
