On Tuesday, company officials announced that the Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, December 3, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The 3-acre Asian-centric property located at 300 W Sahara Ave., at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, will have 200 rooms, 27,500 square feet of casino floor, 300 slot machines, and 37 table games. Future guests of the property can begin to make reservations on October 1 on the company’s website.

Lucky Dragon officials said the opening will be commemorated with a series of Asian celebrations, among them a lion and dragon dance; with the lion dance traditionally performed to chase away ghosts and evil spirits and the Chinese dragon a symbol of China, is believed to bring good luck and fortune. The new casino, financed by Chinese investors, will cater to domestic Chinese gamblers, including Californians and Las Vegas locals, according to Lucky Dragon executives, as reported by the Associated Press.

The Las Vegas Economic Impact Regional Center (LVEIRC), a privately held entity, is the developer of the property. The LVEIRC is promoting the property as the “first casino resort designed from the ground up to create an authentic Asian cultural and gaming experience,” and a gathering hot-spot for Asian visitors, locals, and anyone seeking the best pan-Asian food and excitement in town. According to the developer, gaming will focus heavily on popular games including Pai Gow, Baccarat, Sic Bo, and Fan Tan and will include several Feng Shui-designed private gaming parlors.

Last month, the Lucky Dragon announced that it had been working with Willy Ng of San Francisco to help create its new culinary portfolio, which includes five new restaurants each with its own unique concept.
