That the housing and real estate market is all over the place is nothing new as the sub prime lending effects are truly found out. However in some places values should be holding, such as Las Vegas. This is the bone of contention in a new proposal by CIM Group a California based developer. Because there have been few new sales in the area they want to develop the values are not accurate since part of the valuation looks at other recent sales. CIM will be renovating the Lady Luck and the Post Office building which will be turned into the Mob Museum. The entire project represents over $500 million in investments, 2,500 new jobs and between $34 and $49 million in taxes. The proposal bases the price on whether or not gaming will be included and banks on the fact that CIM is well known for following through with their projects.
