Having worked with Square Enix for fifteen years, online gaming developer Microgaming wants to celebrate the long-running partnership with a new online slot game. Microgaming announced this week that they have renewed their agreement to create a third game involving the Lara Croft brand.
Continuous Relationship:
The agreement with Square Enix to create a third branded game featuring Lara Croft helps to build on the relationship between the company and Microgaming. The two first formed a partnership fifteen years ago with the creation of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. The game released in 2004 and was the first ever licensed branded slot game to be created. In 2008, the two worked together to create a sequel game, Tomb Raider: Secret of the Sword.
Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Clucas, commented on the game by stating: “We are incredibly excited to announce the renewal of our historic partnership with Square Enix to develop a new Lara Croft online slot game that honors and builds on the brand’s massive popularity in the gaming industry, film and beyond. 2019 is our 15th anniversary with the brand and we plan to celebrate the unprecedented milestone with a wave of big reveals on another show-stopping stand at ICE.”
Third Game Releases This Year:
This year, the third installment in the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider genre will launch, revealed during the upcoming ICE Totally Gaming 2019. The new title will feature Lara of course, taking players on a new quest along ancient trails. Triple Edge Studios is in charge of game development with the independent studio offering high quality content for Microgaming.
ICE Totally Gaming 2019 is set to take place in London February 5th to the 7th. More details on the new Lara Croft game will be made available during the event, including demos for those attending.
