It was announced just yesterday that the new Resorts World Las Vegas casino property will be open in mid-2018, offering a casino and hotel experience with more than 3,000 rooms for travelers. During a press release, the Genting Group announced the opening time frame as part of a ground breaking ceremony. Governor Brian Sandoval and Clark County Commissioners to break ground on the $4 billion Chinese themed property — the first Las Vegas Strip development in nearly a decade.
In the press release, it was not confirmed as to the number of rooms for the scheme, though media outlets are reporting the hotel will have over 3,000 guest rooms. The property is located at the north end of the Strip and will be Chinese themed with four accommodation towers, a casino of 175,000 square feet, a theatre with 4,000 seats, an aquarium, a panda exhibit, indoor water park and a unique replica of the Great Wall of China.
The project calls for three hotels, several restaurants featuring authentic Chinese cuisine, more than 100,000 square feet of gaming space, retail options and nightlife venues. Additional announcements are expected to be made as the construction process goes on.
While the official press release did not mention gaming inventory, media reports have previously indicated that the property will have table games and slots in the 3,500 range. With the construction phase, over 30,000 jobs will be created with 13,000 direct and indirect jobs expected once the project is complete.
