Philippines casino operator Bloomberry has nearly completed a four month renovation of their hotel and casino property on South Korea‘s Jeju Island. The reopening will signify the company’s first operating casino outside of the Philippines.

In March, Bloombery chairman and CEO Enrique Razon Jr. announced the purchase of T.H.E. Hotel & Vegas Casino from Golden & Luxury Co Ltd. In four short months from beginning refurbishment the newly revamped facility is expected to open later this month.

Razon said in a statement with a Monday filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange, “We are very excited to introduce Jeju Sun Hotel & Casino starting out with the re-opening of this world-class casino after only less than four months. This is our first operating overseas property, and we exerted much effort to put in place the ambiance and amenities that would enrich the gaming experience.”

Refurbishment began in May and the opening of the hotel is only the first of many phases to be deployed. The company also said, “With the ongoing renovation schedule, the second phase is expected to be completed by December 2015.”

The foreigners-only casino hosts state-of-the-art table games and electronic gaming machines. Premium gaming facilities will include gaming standbys like roulette, blackjack, Sic Bo, and baccarat along with the latest in slot machines. The casino will offer nearly 23,000 square feet (2,125 sq m) of gaming space in total. Live entertainment is expected to add to the experience.

Dining options will include international cuisine with locally sourced produce and fresh seafood.

The property is located a few minutes from the Jeju airport and will feature 208 guestrooms and suites with world-class amenities.

Bloomberry is also planning to invest over US$1 billion in a resort complex in the Incheon Free Economic Zone west of Seoul and near the international airport. They also announced plans in March to purchase nearby Silmi Island.

Bloomberry owns and operates Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque, Philippines, the first of four casinos to complete Pagcor’s Entertainment City.
