The $440 Million Del Lago Casino and Resort project has just received an official opening date, one that’s set for February 2017. According to a public announcement from the management, Del Lago Casino is scheduled for a stage one launch on February 1, when a number of its amenities will open their doors to the general public. Jeff Babinski, the GM of the casino, commented on the event by sharing his hopes of the resort also becoming a convention center for businesses.

The Del Lago Casino was one of the three resorts that were granted a full casino license from the State of New York. The project got off to a rocky start plagued by lawsuits and neighboring opposition, but it eventually overcame the obstacles to begin construction. Its launch time is now scheduled for 10 AM on Wednesday, Feb 1, which is when interested visitors will get a chance to see the 94,000 square feet gaming area that will host 2,000 slot games and 85 tables.

Other amenities scheduled to open at the same date are a 4,200 square feet food court, a large shopping area, a lounge bar amidst the casino floor, as well as the Vine – Del Lago’s 2,400 seat entertainment arena that is scheduled to host hit acts in the upcoming months. The hotel, spa center, and indoor pool, on the other hand, are not to be opened before summer 2017.

The casino resort, according to Babinski, is projected to employ up to 1,500 staff members by the time it’s launched. For this purpose, the casino had already hosted a number of job fairs, where prospective dealers from the area were invited to come for an interview. He also adds that the management is expecting for Del Lago Casino to become a business hub where local businesses will host their conventions and events.
