The Santa Ynez Band Of Chumash Indians in California have announced that they will be opening their newly expanded Chumash Casino Resort complete with 75,000 sq ft of additional gaming floor space from May 20.
The $160 million expansion has also seen the venue, some 125 miles northwest of Los Angeles, add a twelve-story tower offering 215 hotel rooms alongside a new parking garage complete with 584 spaces and a 20,000 sq ft pool deck.
Located just outside the town of Santa Ynez and offering some 2,000 gaming machines, Chumash Casino Resort held a careers fair last month to fill the expected 200 new server, bartender, culinary, housekeeping, transportation and custodial jobs due to be required after the expansion opens.
Mayra Sheley, Employment And Employee Engagement Manager for Chumash Casino Resort, told local television station KSBY that she was excited about the launch of the coming expansion, which will allow the band to provide more opportunities to staff and add to “our Chumash family”.
