G2E 2016 kicked off Monday at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas with a full day of education sessions covering everything from eSports and skill-based gaming, to AML guidance for commercial and tribal casinos, regulations for iGaming, the power of being fearless, mobile sports betting, bonus ‘abuse’, and more.

Today the big show begins with over 450 exhibitors unveiling their wares in every facet of the gaming industry, while the education series runs along in tandem until North America’s premier international gaming trade show and conference concludes on Thursday.

Organized by Reed Expositions and presented by the American Gaming Association, G2E will welcome over 25,000 industry professionals to the event that has grown and changed with the industry it highlights and serves.

One new addition to this year’s show is the “Integrated Resort Experience at G2E” the “first-ever event to centralize sourcing of new products, technologies, and services that drive revenue and value from non-gaming sources,” bolstered by an educational modules focused on how to stay relevant with non-gaming elements, how to attract and retain millennials, maximizing entertainment, and marketing information.

The massive exhibition floor will see displays from world leaders and up-and-comers with IGT occupying 25,000 square feet of floor space, and Scientific Games exhibiting on over 21,000 sq ft. The smallest exhibitors will have 16 sq ft spaces on the nearly 200,000 sq ft floor.

Look for IGT to demonstrate Lucky’s Quest, one of its first skill-based gambling games. Industry professionals will also be witness to IGT’s debut of the “CrystalCurve ULTRA” cabinet featuring a 32″ curved landscape touchscreen display topped with a 50-inch, curved portrait display. According to the IGT announcement; “The cabinet includes an embedded camera that gives players the opportunity to incorporate their images into gameplay.” Expect at least 25 new game themes from IGT at this year’s show.

Scientific Games is set to unveil new themed slots such as “Seinfeld” and others. Seinfeld will debut on Scientific Games’ GameScape platform, following last years’ G2E release of The Simpsons on the 40″ player-surrounding curved screen, multiple high definition displays, and 3D stereo sound. Unlike the IGT cabinet, the sound bar on this machine allows up and down as well as left to right, in and out sound movement without the need for a sound chair.

Unfortunately, consumers will have to wait for these new concepts to be deployed to casino floors in order experience the innovations and new games, as G2E is not open to the public.

The AGA and Reed Expositions had the following to say about G2E 2016;

“The gaming industry is entering an exciting era with new trends, technology and legislation that will power the $240 billion sector into the future,” said Andrew Ortale, AGA’s vice president of industry services. “G2E delivers a platform for all gaming-related businesses to equip themselves with the tools that will allow them to thrive for years to come.”

Ed Several, senior vice president of Reed Exhibitions, said, “We’ve put a major focus into the evolution of G2E to ensure it is staying ahead of the curve as the gaming industry changes. Attendees to G2E 2016 will experience first-hand the future of the casino gaming industry, as well as explore a variety of ways to increase their bottom line today.”
