Goa, along the southwest side of India has just approved the first five star floating hotel casino with one restriction. Sanjiv Gadkar, on Tuesday, stated the government approved the license for Deltin MV Royal Flotal, but the hotel casino cannot operate on River Mandovi. Deltin Corporation Ltd, the owner of the floating hotel casino asked if they can operate on the river until it is decided where they can ply their vessel. At the moment the 2012 gaming commission rules have not given full details about where casinos can operate. The relocation policy was not attached to the 2012 manifesto allowing casinos to operate.

No news has been released regarding the casino hotel operations. The government has yet to respond as to whether the casino boat can operate in the river until the details are ironed out.

Deltin Corporation is hoping they can operate their 15 suites, spa, restaurant, and casino ship soon. They have permission from all authorities including the directorate of food and drug administration, and pollution control board. They are ready to start receiving guests soon, providing permission to operate in the River Mandovi for the time being is given. However, the hotel casino operator may have to wait until the government finalizes the policy.
