Jeju Dream Tower has reported a significant surge in casino revenue for August 2025, reaching KRW 42.99 billion ($32.2 million), marking a 30.5% increase from the previous year. The integrated resort, which operates under a foreign-only admission policy, also set a new record for visitor numbers during the month, further demonstrating the growing appeal of the destination.

Strong Performance for Jeju Dream Tower Casino

While the overall revenue figure showed a slight 1% decrease compared to July 2025, the year-over-year performance was particularly strong in the table games segment, which generated KRW 41.17 billion ($30.8 million). This marked a 38.5% increase from August 2024 and a slight 0.9% increase from the previous month, reinforcing the strong demand for these games.

However, the machine games segment reported a contrasting performance. Revenue from machine games fell by 43.5% year-on-year, generating KRW 1.82 billion ($1.4 million). The drop was even more significant compared to July 2025, when machine game sales fell by 2.2%. Despite the decline in this segment, the overall casino revenue growth was driven by the strong performance of table games.

One of the standout achievements in August was the record-breaking number of visitors to Jeju Dream Tower, which reached 57,042. This marked a 0.62% increase from July’s 56,691 visitors and a 52.1% jump compared to August 2024. The continued growth in visitation highlights the resort’s appeal and its ability to draw in both new and returning guests.

In addition to casino activity, the resort also saw a positive trend in its hotel operations. Hotel revenue for August amounted to KRW 8.37 billion ($6.3 million), reflecting a 6.1% increase compared to July 2025. However, the hotel revenue for the month showed a 15.7% decrease compared to August 2024, which suggests a different recovery trajectory compared to the gaming segment.

Looking at the cumulative performance for the year, Jeju Dream Tower’s casino revenue for the first eight months of 2025 totaled KRW 280.99 billion ($210.7 million), representing a remarkable 46.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The increase was mainly driven by strong table game sales, which grew by 49.2% to KRW 267.39 billion ($200.5 million).

Machine games also showed some growth, although more modest, with a 3.2% increase to KRW 13.60 billion ($10.2 million). According to Asia Gaming Brief, despite the solid gaming performance, the resort’s hotel revenue for the first eight months of the year declined by 11.5%, totaling KRW 52.22 billion ($39.4 million). This decline contrasts with the strong gaming revenue growth and highlights the differing recovery rates between gaming and accommodation services.

A New Benchmark for Jeju Dream Tower

Jeju Dream Tower’s continued growth and success are notable given its strategic repositioning in recent years. The resort, developed by Lotte Tour Development, opened its integrated casino in June 2021, relocating from its former base at the smaller Lotte Hotel Jeju. The new casino now spans over 5,000 square meters, with 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines, and 71 electronic table games.

As South Korea’s tallest building at 169 meters, the 38-floor Jeju Dream Tower boasts an impressive array of amenities, including a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, a top-floor skydeck with a lounge, and two spas. The complex’s offering of world-class facilities and entertainment has been a significant factor in its rising appeal and success.
