Macau Fisherman’s Wharf is a waterside development under construction by the Macau Legend Development Ltd casino services firm. The group is seeking an increase in building height limit for an unspecified portion of the property, asking for 50% in height to be added to the facility. If the group is approved for the height increase, Fisherman’s Wharf would be the same height as the Sands Macau, which is operated by Sands China Ltd.
A request has been filed to the government of Macau by Macau Legend for the height increase. As part of the Fisherman’s Wharf development, Babylon Casino would be the gaming venue, operated with a gaming license of SJM Holdings Ltd.
The report does not state as to which part of Fisherman’s Wharf would be affected by the increase in height. Either way, the proposal would increase the height, going from 60 meters above ground level to 90 meters. With the proposal, the group is also requesting the total gross floor area also be increased.
Macau Legend is in the process of redeveloping Fisherman’s Wharf, which just had a soft opening of Harbourview Hotel taking place on February 2nd. The company has plans to add two more hotels to the property with openings in 2016 and 2017, Legendale and Legends Palace Hotel – both will have casinos. Fisherman’s Wharf is a gaming district in Macau.
