The Parx Casino in Benesalem will be undergoing an expansion soon as the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has given the facility approval to add new slot machines to the gaming floor. The casino will have the option to add 268 new machines, which could bring in as much as $15 to $20 million in annual revenues.

The owner of Parx Casino, Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment Inc., earned just over $507 million in gambling revenue for a twelve month period, ending on the 30th of June. This helped the casino to come in second in the state with gaming earnings, behind Sands Bethlehem.

The gaming floor will be expanded by 15% by incorporating an area that is currently not being used. The new gaming machines will be added and ready for game play by the 5th of November, according to officials of Parx. Additional components of the project will include the XLounge, and this will be completed by Christmas.

The XLounge will include nine table games with roulette and blackjack emphasized. These games are already at capacity at the casino during the weekend. Once the expansion is completed, the casino will have fifteen roulette games, up from four added just five years ago.
