iGaming Business – Canadian gaming provider Amaya Gaming has completed its acquisition of Rational Group, the operator of online poker brands PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker, for US$4.9 billion (€3.6 billion).

The deal, which was announced in June, received regulatory approval last week.

“We are extremely pleased to have completed this Acquisition,” Amaya chairman and chief executive David Baazov said.

“Through PokerStars, Full Tilt and its multiple live poker tours and events, Rational’s brands comprise the world’s largest poker business, generating diversified and recurring revenues across the globe from its extremely loyal customer base.”

Baazov suggested that Rational’s senior management team would remain largely unchanged following the takeover, aside from departures that have already been confirmed.
