Carl Icahn saved the Trump Taj Mahal from bankruptcy months ago and is facing unhappy workers. On Thursday April 30, 2015, workers staged the sixth protest against Ichan’s decision to terminate pension and health coverage for employees of the Trump Taj Mahal casino. Employees went to the Tropicana where it was thought Carl Ichan was staying for the evening to hand him a letter.
Employees wanted to provide a letter to Ichan on the topic, but the contents are unknown. Security allowed the group to protest on the vestibule, but no one on the security team would accept the letter.
A judge already ruled the Union rules and old contract with the casino are terminated. This occurred after Ichan claimed the casino would go bankrupt if he had to pay out for benefits and pensions. This has not stopped the protests.
