Set to become a premier destination in the Philippines, the Subic Sun Resort, Convention & Casino is scheduled to open in December 2025, offering an array of world-class amenities including a luxury casino, two internationally branded hotels, and an expansive convention center. Located in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, a thriving special economic hub, the project is poised to redefine leisure and business tourism in the region.

A state-of-the-art resort with cutting-edge security:

Subic Sun Development, the project’s developer, has partnered with Iveda, a leader in AI-driven video surveillance, to provide cutting-edge security systems for the resort. IvedaAI was selected early in the development phase to optimize the placement of surveillance cameras and ensure smooth integration with AI-powered analytics that will enhance both security and operational efficiency. Iveda’s technology will allow staff to respond to incidents promptly, lowering security costs and improving the overall guest experience by reducing blind spots and enhancing monitoring coverage.

As reported by Business Wire, David Ly, CEO and Founder of Iveda, highlighted the significance of this partnership: “By designing camera layouts around IvedaAI’s real-time analytics, Subic Sun can optimize coverage, reduce blind spots, and deliver safer, smoother guest experiences.” The integration of IvedaAI reflects a broader trend in the global resort industry, which is placing increasing emphasis on safety, service, and operational efficiency. With the global resort market projected to grow from $347 billion in 2024 to nearly $945 billion by 2030, Iveda’s AI technology will enable Subic Sun to stay at the forefront of these developments.

A visionary development in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone:

The Subic Sun Resort will be a major addition to the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, which is already home to thousands of international and local businesses. The complex will feature 500 guest rooms, two Accor-branded hotels, and a state-of-the-art convention center. The two hotels, Ibis Styles and Mercure, are slated to open in December 2025, with Ibis Styles Subic expected to offer 175 rooms and Mercure Subic offering 250 rooms. Both properties will cater to economy and midscale segments, respectively, marking the first internationally branded hotels in the Subic area.

In addition to the hotels and convention center, the resort will include a luxury casino, duty-free shopping options, and a variety of recreational facilities. The resort’s sprawling six-hectare property will also feature an Americana complex, seaside clubhouse, American country club, and a new Dragon Restaurant. This ambitious project aims to transform Subic Bay into a major tourist and business destination, furthering the economic growth of the area.

Eduardo Jose L. Aliño, Chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, expressed his excitement about the project, noting that the development would propel the Freeport’s economic growth to new heights. He added, “We are all excited to see the realization of a magnificent architectural concept, which I am certain will steer the economic growth of the freeport to greater heights.”

Iveda’s involvement in the Subic Sun project marks a significant milestone for the company and its joint venture, Iveda Philippines, which is focused on deploying smart-city solutions nationwide. The Subic Sun Resort will be Iveda’s first major hospitality project in the Philippines, advancing the company’s goal of generating $3 million in smart-city revenue by FY 2026. The collaboration is also expected to set a precedent for future developments in the region, with more ground-up projects likely to follow.
