Tropicana Atlantic City, New Jersey, has revealed plans for a major overhaul of its west wing, signaling a bold investment in its future with the creation of the Solana Tower. This newly branded tower will consist of 604 completely renovated rooms and suites, all set to deliver a coastal-inspired, elevated hospitality experience. Construction is scheduled to commence shortly after Labor Day 2025 and is expected to be completed by January 2026. Guests will be able to begin booking their stays starting in fall 2025.

Tropicana announces ambitious Solana Tower transformation:

This renovation comes as part of Tropicana’s strategy to reinforce its position as one of Atlantic City’s top-tier resorts. As a property under Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City portfolio—alongside Caesars and Harrah’s—Tropicana is doubling down on its commitment to modernizing and refreshing its guest offerings amid a competitive and evolving casino-resort landscape.

Joe Giunta, Senior Vice President & General Manager at Tropicana, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming changes in Caesars’ press release: “We are thrilled to offer our guests a new, elevated hospitality experience with the addition of Solana Tower. Bright, breezy and brimming with character—these room enhancements blend playful coastal charm with a nod to vintage Atlantic City. The new rooms offer a vibrant, welcoming escape that’s as fun as it is approachable.”

The Solana Tower’s redesign draws aesthetic inspiration from the property’s iconic Palm Walk—a signature corridor within the casino renowned for its soaring palm trees and energetic atmosphere. This space has been a defining element of Tropicana’s charm, and it now serves as the blueprint for the tower’s relaxed yet upscale theme.

The new rooms will feature a harmonious blend of textures and tones, including soft wood finishes, tropical-patterned fabrics, and bold color accents. These design elements aim to create a light, airy environment that brings the spirit of the coast indoors. Each space will also be adorned with carefully curated artwork and decorative touches that combine a sense of fun with refined elegance.

The atmosphere being created in the Solana Tower rooms is meant to balance stylish comfort with a feeling of playfulness—an approach designed to appeal to a wide range of travelers, from leisure tourists to weekend escape-seekers.

Strategic revamp amid industry headwinds:

Tropicana’s announcement comes at a time when Atlantic City’s casino market faces notable economic challenges. The broader industry saw a 5.1% dip in revenue during the first quarter of 2025, according to the latest reports. Despite this downturn, Tropicana stood out by achieving a 7.1% increase in operating profit, totaling $13.4 million—a clear signal of the resort’s operational resilience and forward-looking investments.

The decision to proceed with the Solana Tower renovation reflects confidence in long-term growth and a recognition that guest experience is a decisive factor in maintaining competitiveness. By transforming its west wing into a refreshed and rebranded hospitality offering, Tropicana aims not only to attract new guests but also to provide returning visitors with a fresh take on Atlantic City luxury.

Renovation work on the Solana Tower will kick off in September 2025, shortly after the summer peak season ends. The extensive makeover is expected to take several months, culminating in a grand reveal by early 2026. Fall 2025 has been targeted as the reservation launch window, giving future guests the opportunity to secure stays in the newly renovated rooms ahead of the official debut.

With the unveiling of Solana Tower, Tropicana is poised to redefine comfort and charm on the Atlantic City boardwalk. The revitalization of its west wing not only demonstrates a renewed vision for the resort’s future but also underscores a broader trend among destination casinos seeking to enhance luxury while preserving local character.
