A new record was set by Imperial Pacific International Holdings, a casino operator of Saipan, in the category of VIP gambling. The company was able to see a record month in January for VIP operations. On Thursday, a filing within the Hong Kong Stock Exchange revealed that the company generated $5.59b in turnover for the month of January at their Best Sunshine Live property via the 16 VIP gaming tables.
The turnover generated is actually $1.6 billion more than the last record set by Best Sunshine. That record was set in September of last year and represents 1/6 of the reported total VIP turnover for Best Sunshine for 2016.
Turnover or “rolling” at VIP tables is not the same as revenue generated. The theoretical win at VIP baccarat tables is 2.85 percent and can be a meaningless number when taken alone, such as a case where the debts are never collected. In a perfect climate, gross revenues for January would be near $160 million, or $10 million per table.
