DraftKings has rolled out its online sportsbook in Puerto Rico, extending mobile wagering access to eligible residents of the U.S. territory. The launch follows the opening of the company’s retail sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in November and marks the next phase of its expansion on the island.

Beginning February 23, 2026, Puerto Rico residents can access the DraftKings online sportsbook after completing an in-person registration at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino. The requirement applies to all new customers seeking mobile access. Once registration is finalized on-site, users may place bets anywhere within Puerto Rico through the DraftKings platform.

Non-residents are not permitted to use the online sportsbook in Puerto Rico. Visitors can still wager at the physical DraftKings sportsbook inside Foxwoods El San Juan Casino but cannot access the mobile product.

On-Site Registration Requirement for Residents

To activate an account, eligible customers must appear in person at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino and register before using the mobile platform. After verification, residents gain access to features such as same-game parlays, in-game wagering and promotional odds boosts. The sportsbook covers a range of major leagues and sporting events, including MLB, NFL and NBA competitions.

DraftKings Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports Gregory Karamitis addressed the launch in a company statement: “Puerto Rico has a passionate sports community and launching our online sportsbook allows us to meet fans where they are,” he said, as reported by Business Wire. “With retail already live at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, mobile represents the next step in expanding the DraftKings experience across the island—giving eligible local customers a seamless, exciting, and responsible way to engage with sports.”

The introduction of the online product follows Puerto Rico’s legalization of sports betting in 2019, enacted after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the federal ban on sports wagering. Since then, several major U.S.-based sportsbook operators have entered the market through partnerships with local casino properties.

Expanding Presence in the Territory

DraftKings now operates its sportsbook in 26 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Ontario and Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rico launch positions the company alongside other national brands that have established operations on the island through casino collaborations.

FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars also offer sports betting services in Puerto Rico through various retail and mobile partnerships. Online casino gaming, however, remains illegal in the territory.

In advance of the Puerto Rico rollout, DraftKings introduced a Spanish-language version of its online platform in late 2025. Spanish is one of Puerto Rico’s official languages and the primary language spoken across the island.

DraftKings Chief Product Officer Corey Gottlieb commented on the language expansion at the time: “By bringing Spanish-language functionality to our best-in-class product, we’re creating a more intuitive experience for our customers and expanding our total addressable market,” he said in November 2025. “This is consistent with our commitment to delivering the most authentic, personalized product for everyone.”

Company representatives emphasized responsible gaming as part of the launch. DraftKings provides tools such as My Budget Builder and My Stat Sheet through its Responsible Gaming Center. These features allow customers to set limits and track their betting activity.

DraftKings, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods El San Juan Casino have indicated that player protection remains a shared focus as the mobile sportsbook begins operations.

The Puerto Rico online sportsbook is available exclusively to residents who complete the in-person sign-up requirement. Visitors remain limited to in-person betting at the casino property.
