FanDuel is preparing to enter Alberta’s regulated online gaming market on July 13, pending regulatory approval, bringing its Casino and Sportsbook products to players in the province while outlining community initiatives and new partnerships connected to the launch.

The company said its Alberta expansion forms part of a broader commitment to responsible gaming, local engagement and long-term investment in Canadian communities. FanDuel has already established a presence in Ontario and plans to extend its operations into Alberta as the province opens its regulated iGaming framework.

“Alberta represents an exciting new chapter for FanDuel Canada, and we look forward to the opportunity to bring our industry-leading Casino and Sportsbook experience to players across the province,” said Dale Hooper, General Manager, FanDuel Canada, in the company’s press release. “As we plan to enter this new market, we’re committed to delivering a best-in-class entertainment experience and meaningful community engagement remains at the heart of everything we do.”

Ahead of the planned launch, Alberta residents aged 18 and older can create FanDuel accounts through the company’s Canadian platform. The FanDuel Casino and Sportsbook app will include educational resources covering casino play, sports betting and responsible gaming tools.

FanDuel announces Alberta community contributions

As part of its market entry plans, FanDuel announced financial support for organizations operating in Alberta.

The company will provide $50,000 to the A Dollar A Day Foundation, which supports mental health programs by helping connect funding with frontline services. FanDuel has supported the organization during the past three years, contributing $150,000 toward mental health initiatives across Ontario and Alberta.

FanDuel will also donate $30,000 to the Canada Red Cross Emergency Management Program in Alberta. The contribution is intended to support preparedness efforts and help communities respond during emergency situations.

The operator said these initiatives reflect its approach to participating in new markets through partnerships with local and national organizations while maintaining a focus on responsible gaming practices.

FanDuel’s Alberta entry comes as several private operators prepare for the province’s regulated iGaming launch. The company joins other major brands seeking access to Alberta’s online casino and sports betting market.

New partnerships expand FanDuel’s Alberta presence

Alongside its planned Alberta launch, FanDuel Canada announced several partnerships connected to gaming, sports and community events.

The company has entered into an exclusive partnership with Light & Wonder that will bring the Huff N’ Puff franchise to Alberta players, pending regulatory approval.

FanDuel also renewed its multi-year partnership with the Canadian Football League (CFL). Under the expanded agreement, the company will extend its CFL involvement beyond Ontario into Alberta and introduce Casino as a new category within the partnership.

The 113th Grey Cup is scheduled to take place on November 15, 2026, at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta.

FanDuel Canada is also continuing its support of the Calgary Stampede Foundation through its role as title sponsor of the Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament. The event has generated more than $1.3 million for the foundation over time.

The 2026 Cowboys Stampede Showdown Charity Poker Tournament Presented by FanDuel raised $260,000, marking the highest fundraising total in the tournament’s history in support of the Calgary Stampede Foundation.

FanDuel Group operates across North America through its portfolio of online gaming brands, including FanDuel Sportsbook, FanDuel Casino, FanDuel Racing and daily fantasy sports products. The company also operates FanDuel TV and FanDuel TV+, expanding its presence beyond wagering platforms.
