LeoVegas Group has introduced its proprietary Tiger sportsbook platform to the UK, extending the technology across its BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK brands as the company continues a multi-market rollout strategy that began last year.
The UK deployment represents the latest stage in LeoVegas Group’s effort to transition its betting operations onto an internally controlled sportsbook platform. The launch follows previous implementations in Denmark, Brazil and Sweden, with the operator describing the move as a major step in the development of its sportsbook business.
The group has spent the past two years building and refining Tiger, a proprietary sportsbook powered by technology acquired through LeoVegas’ purchase of Tipico US in 2024. The acquisition provided access to both the platform and the associated management and trading teams, helping accelerate the company’s objective of establishing greater control over its sports betting technology.
For LeoVegas, the UK rollout carries particular significance due to the size and maturity of the market. The country remains one of the most competitive betting environments globally, with operators competing across a wide range of sporting events, promotions and product features.
UK Rollout Extends Tiger’s International Expansion
The migration means that BetMGM, LeoVegas and BetUK customers in the UK are now using the group’s in-house sportsbook stack. The implementation follows the completion of similar transitions in Sweden, Denmark and Brazil.
LeoVegas highlighted several features available through Tiger, including enhanced odds boosts, a partial cash-out function and a Flex Combi betting product designed to provide greater flexibility for combination wagers.
The company said ownership of its sportsbook technology enables it to introduce product updates more quickly and adapt to changing market requirements while supporting its longer-term growth plans.
Commenting on the UK launch, Adrian Vella, Chief Product and Technology Officer at LeoVegas Group, said:
“This marks one of the most significant moments in our two-year journey to build a world-class, proprietary sportsbook. Every market launch has helped us refine the platform, improve the customer experience and strengthen our competitive edge. Launching in the UK demonstrates our commitment to investing in our own technology – giving us the speed to innovate, greater flexibility and a strong foundation for long-term strategic growth.”
The same statement was used by the company to underline the importance of bringing Tiger to one of its most strategically important markets.
Technology Strategy Stems From Tipico US Acquisition
LeoVegas first launched Tiger in Denmark in July 2025. Denmark served as the initial market for the platform before the company expanded the rollout into Brazil and later Sweden.
The sportsbook is built on technology obtained through the acquisition of Tipico US. At the time of the deal, MGM Resorts International, which owns LeoVegas Group, said the purchase would support the creation of a purpose-built proprietary sportsbook for LeoVegas’ international operations. Markets covered by the BetMGM joint venture with Entain in the United States were excluded from those plans.
Industry observers viewed the acquisition as a way for LeoVegas to accelerate its technology roadmap. Analysts noted that obtaining Tipico’s platform and specialist teams could significantly reduce the time required to gain control over key sportsbook capabilities compared with developing equivalent systems internally.
The move was also expected to strengthen LeoVegas’ ability to enter emerging regulated markets. One analyst said the acquisition should improve the company’s prospects in markets such as Brazil by providing a stronger technological foundation from the outset.
Although reports suggested parts of the integration process took longer than initially anticipated, LeoVegas consistently maintained that the rollout was being carried out in stages. Speaking last year, Vella explained that the company was following a planned sequence intended to support regulatory compliance, extensive testing and player experience optimization before entering additional jurisdictions.
Focus Turns to Product Differentiation in Competitive Market
With Tiger now available across three major UK-facing brands, LeoVegas is positioning the platform as a central part of its sports betting strategy.
James Derbyshire, Sports Director UK & Ireland at LeoVegas Group, said:
“Launching our proprietary sportsbook, Tiger, in the UK is another huge milestone for the group. As one of the most competitive iGgaming markets in the world, I’m excited to see our customers enjoy the product and engage with some fantastic new sports betting features tailored specifically for the UK market.”
The UK launch continues LeoVegas Group’s broader strategy of migrating brands onto proprietary technology. After completing deployments in Denmark, Brazil, Sweden and now the UK, the company has further expanded the reach of Tiger as it seeks to build a unified sportsbook platform across its international operations.
