A record-setting heads-up poker contest at the Triton Super High Roller Series in Jeju ended with Finnish businessman Ossi “Monarch” Ketola defeating Poker Hall of Famer Patrik Antonius in a $20 million battle that became the largest livestreamed match of its kind.

The contest saw both players commit $10 million each, creating one of the biggest individual poker matches ever broadcast. After more than four hours of play, Ketola emerged victorious, adding another notable result to a trip that had already included several high-stakes heads-up encounters.

The match began cautiously despite the enormous stakes. According to Poker News, during one early exchange, Antonius asked his opponent, “Are you nervous at all?” Ketola replied, “Low key, a bit?” The two discussed how different the atmosphere felt compared with lower-stakes matches.

“Good,” concluded Antonius. “We’re here to feel.”

Massive Bluffs Shape Early Stages

Although both players spent long stretches carefully feeling out the action, Ketola quickly demonstrated a willingness to apply pressure in large pots.

One of the most talked-about hands of the match came when Ketola fired a $3 million river bet into a pot that already contained roughly $2 million. Holding only 6♥3♥ on a board of 9♣4♣2♠J♠9♠, he represented significant strength despite missing his draw entirely. Antonius, who held K♣J♣ for top pair, folded, allowing Ketola to collect a huge pot with six-high.

The aggressive approach continued throughout the session. Antonius later responded with an impressive hero call, correctly identifying a bluff when he called a river bet with queen-high on a K♠J♦5♣J♣9♦ board. Ketola could only show eight-high, handing the pot to the Hall of Famer.

For much of the early action, Ketola maintained control of the chip lead. However, momentum shifted repeatedly as the two Finns exchanged major pots. One key hand saw Ketola flop bottom two pair in a pot that eventually grew to $5.2 million, only for Antonius to improve to a stronger two pair on the river and move into a slight lead.

Another significant confrontation developed when Ketola held Q♦3♦ and paired his queen on a board of 10♦Q♣2♥6♠. Antonius continued betting aggressively with A♦5♦ despite holding only ace-high. Ketola called through the action and collected a substantial pot when Antonius abandoned the bluff on the river, restoring Ketola’s advantage.

Straight Flush Creates Turning Point

The decisive sequence arrived late in the match. Antonius limped from the button with K♦9♠ before Ketola raised with Q♥9♥. The flop of Q♠J♥8♥ gave Ketola top pair along with a straight flush draw. After checking, he watched Antonius bet, then responded with a check-raise.

The turn card, 10♥, completed Ketola’s straight flush while simultaneously giving Antonius a king-high straight. Ketola checked again, allowing Antonius to continue betting before launching another check-raise.

When the river brought the 3♣, Ketola moved all-in. Antonius faced a difficult decision with a strong straight but eventually folded after spending more than two minutes considering his options. The disciplined laydown preserved part of his stack but left him with limited room to recover.

Final Hand Ends Historic Contest

The match concluded immediately afterward. Antonius found A♦K♦ and committed his remaining chips after Ketola, holding K♣J♣, moved all-in preflop.

At the flop, Antonius remained ahead and appeared well positioned to double up. The board initially favored the Hall of Famer, but the J♠ on the turn dramatically changed the situation by pairing Ketola’s jack and giving him the lead.

The river 7♣ failed to rescue Antonius, sealing the victory for Ketola and ending the match.

The result handed Antonius a $10 million defeat, reported as the largest single-match loss in livestream poker history. For Ketola, the win represented the biggest heads-up triumph of his career and further improved his results from the Jeju series.

Ketola had already won three of four heads-up matches against Wiktor “Limitless” Malinowski earlier during the festival. Following his victory over Antonius, he was reported to be ahead by approximately $16 million for the trip, pending any additional heads-up action.
