Palasino Holdings Limited has added another land-based property to its Central European footprint with the opening of Palasino Mikulov, a new casino located in southern Czech Republic close to the Austrian border. The venue marks the group’s fourth casino operation in the country and began operating following a soft launch held in mid-December, timed to align with the busy holiday period.
The casino is situated in Mikulov, a town that the company has previously described as a destination attracting both domestic and international visitors. Its position near the border with Austria places it within reach of cross-border traffic while also strengthening Palasino’s existing Czech operations. The opening forms part of a broader strategy focused on expanding the group’s land-based gaming presence across Central Europe.
Soft Launch Timed for Holiday Season
Palasino Mikulov opened its doors through a soft launch on December 18. The decision to begin operations ahead of Christmas and New Year was driven by seasonal demand, which management has identified as a peak trading period for the property. A larger opening event is planned once the holiday rush concludes.
A grand opening ceremony involving local officials, partners, and suppliers is scheduled for early 2026. Company statements indicate that the formal event was intentionally deferred to ensure the venue could begin welcoming guests during the year-end period without interruption.
The opening ceremony for the soft launch was attended by senior executives, including chief executive Pavel Maršík, who officiated the event alongside members of the management team.
Gaming Floor, Dining, and Player Offers
The new casino features a gaming floor equipped with 106 slot machines and 10 gaming tables. Slot content is supplied by a range of manufacturers, including Novomatic AG, APEX, Euro Games Technology, IGT, and SYNOT Games Ltd. Alongside gaming, the property includes a buffet restaurant and bar designed to support longer guest visits.
Palasino Mikulov also operates a loyalty programme for players and hosts regular promotions. Monthly incentives and festive events form part of the entertainment schedule, with the aim of appealing to repeat visitors as well as new customers. The venue is positioned as a full-service gaming and leisure location rather than a standalone gaming hall.
Expansion Strategy and Regional Footprint
Management has framed the Mikulov opening as a continuation of the company’s wider regional growth plans. In a prepared statement [pdf], chief operating officer Colin Chapman Stewart said: “The launch of Palasino Mikulov is a significant step in our growth strategy. By introducing the Palasino brand and our expertise in gaming and hospitality to this area, we are tapping into new customer segments and contributing to the local economy.”
Stewart made similar remarks elsewhere following the opening, stating: “The launch of Palasino Mikulov is a significant step in our growth strategy,” and adding that the project would reach new customer segments while supporting local economic activity.
Chief executive Pavel Maršík also commented on the opening, saying: “We are proud to open Palasino Mikulov, a project that reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality entertainment across Central Europe. We are confident that this vibrant and strategically located property will bring fresh energy and exceptional service to our community and international guests alike, creating new opportunities for growth.”
In a separate statement, Maršík said the new casino demonstrated the group’s focus on providing high-quality entertainment in Central Europe and expressed confidence that the location and offering would resonate with both local patrons and visitors from abroad.
Beyond its Czech casino portfolio, Palasino Holdings also owns and operates hotels in neighboring markets. The group runs three hotels in Germany and one in Austria, offering accommodation, catering, and conference services. Palasino was listed in Hong Kong in March 2024 after being spun off from property developer Far East Consortium International Ltd.
