This year marks the beginning of the 13th season of the World Series of Poker Circuit, with the WSOP announcing on Tuesday the 2016-2017 schedule. The circuit will make 22 stops in the United States and travel to at least six international destinations. The WSOP should be announcing eight additional stops on the poker circuit in the near future.

In a press release, Ty Stewart, the Executive Director of the WSOP, announced that the group was excited to be adding new stops to the domestic tour for this year and expanding the international tour. The WSOP is striving to refine each stop and make the events bigger and better. International stop swill include casino venues in Germany, Uruguay, St. Maarten, Italy, the Czech Republic and France.

Once the tour begins, Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina will be hosting the first event, beginning on the 4th of August. This stop will run until the 16th, with the tour heading to Connecticut, as the Foxwoods Resorts hosts gaming from the 18th to the 29th. At the same time, starting on the 25th, Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas Strip will be offering game play until the 5th of September.

New stops on the tour include the Potawatomi venue in Wisconsin and the Hard Rock Tulsa. The Wisconsin stop will not take place until February while the Tulsa venue will host the WSOP circuit in March.

This season will finish up with the Global Casino Championship with players have the option to qualify throughout the season. Players have the ability to accumulate points via wins in a domestic or international stop. Players who earn the most points during game play or those who are one of the top 50 cumulative point earners during the 2016-2017 season will earn a spot to compete. Additional details of the qualifications for the Championship should be released in the near future.
