King’s Casino of Rozvadov has become a hot spot for poker activity. Having already secured a deal to offer World Series of Poker and World Series of Poker Europe events, the casino continues to host events in the interim. Recently, the venue hosted the 2017 PokerNews Cup Rozvadov which included a €250 Main Event. A total of 617 players competed in the event with Holger Bansner outlasting the field and claiming the title.
During the event, the tournament would wind down to the final four players and an ICM deal would be cut, according to a play by play at PokerNews.com. With the deal, €8,000 would remain for the winner as well as the trophy from the event. Once it got down to Bansner and Timur Caglan in heads-up play, another deal was cut which left just €2,000 for the winner.
When heads-up play began, Caglan and Bansner would be almost even in chips. They would decide to make a second deal and Caglan would quickly gain a lead over his opponent. However, Bansner would double up and eventually earn the first place win, after his suited King-Queen pulled a top pair against Caglan, whose King-High flush draw never finished out.
