The 12 events of the 2021 Poker Masters have finally come to an end. Early on, it appeared as though Daniel Negreanu would claim the purple jacket due to hits leaderboard point total. However, during the last two events, Michael Addamo earned back-to-back titles and ended up boosting his point total to win the coveted prize.
Details of the Two Events
During Event #11, players competed in a $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament. Addamo was able to outlast the field and claim $680,000 in prize money, earning a good number of points to increase his leaderboard total.
In Event #12, Addamo had to win first or second place to earn the purple jacket, if a few other players won the event. Stanley Tang, Alex Foxen, Mikita Badziakouski, and Nick Petrangelo were all in the running to potentially earn the jacket.
Addamo managed to win this event too and claimed the top spot on the purple jacket leaderboard. For the win, the poker player won an extra $50,000 and of course, the purple jacket. The second win added $1.16 million to his overall Poker Masters total. After the last event, Addamo stated to officials that he doesn’t think he has ever won back-to-back events of this magnitude before.
