Fanatics Holdings, Inc.’s online and retail sports betting division, Fanatics Betting and Gaming partnered up with the Cleveland Guardians to open a new retail sportsbook.
Huge success for the company:
The sportsbook will be situated at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ted Baugh, a Vice President of Corporate and Premium Partnerships of Cleveland Guardians, is satisfied with the partnership. He commented: “We’re very excited to partner with Fanatics Betting and Gaming to bring a retail sportsbook location, their first in Major League Baseball, outside Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland. This will provide our fans a very convenient in-person option to place bets.”
The ceremonial first bet was placed by a former pitcher of Cleveland Guardians, Paul Shuey. He was the first-round pick of Cleveland in 1992, as well as the second one overall. On this occasion, Shuey placed a $20 Moneyline bet for the upcoming football game between the University of North Carolina, whose graduate he is, and the University of South Carolina. The game will be held on September 2, 2023.
Fanatics Betting and Gaming’s Chief Business Officer, Ari Borod, said: “This is Fanatics Betting and Gaming’s first retail sportsbook at a Major League Ballpark. We designed this location to complement our online sports betting app and usher in a brand new sports betting experience with the most rewarding online sportsbook in Ohio, allowing customers to earn up to 5% back in FanCash on every bet.”
Along with the new retail property, Fanatics went live with the new Fanatics Sportsbook app in Ohio. The app eases the betting process and enhances the player experience. Its most valuable asset is a fantastic Discover feature that helps players find the games and other content they’re most interested in.
Major retail sportsbook:
When it comes to the retail sportsbook, it is located just outside the Right Field District Gate, at the corner of East 9th Street and Larry Doby Way.
The property is placed across about 600 square feet and consists of many attractive products for all of the bettors, including two betting windows, four self-service betting kiosks, as well as seven impressive TV monitors.
The players will be able to place their bets on all major sports in both professional and college leagues. Among the available sports are football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, MMA, and boxing.
All of the operations related to the sports betting markets’ development and trading are planned to be done in-house, but the company won’t do it alone – there are plenty of various trading suppliers that will be a great help.
For the fans, the important information is that Guardians game tickets won’t be necessary to enter the property.
The sportsbook will be open from 2 pm to 8 pm on workdays, and on weekends the working hours will be from 11 am to 9 pm. However, when it’s a game day, the sportsbook will work longer, beginning two hours before the first pitch, and it will last during the whole game.
