A large-scale integrated resort development in Manila’s Entertainment City precinct has adopted a new identity following changes in ownership and management. The project, previously known as LET X, will now operate under the name Westside Resort as it advances toward its targeted completion in the third quarter of 2026.
The rebranding follows a shift in control that took place late last year. Travellers International Hotel Group, which operates Newport World Resorts, together with its parent company Alliance Global Group, secured a majority stake in the US$1.25 billion development. They assumed control from Suntrust Resort Developers Inc, a company linked to Hong Kong-listed LET Group, which holds a 51 percent share in Suntrust.
New Operating Company Takes Charge
To help ensure the resort’s timely completion, the parties entered into what was described as a strategic working agreement. As part of that arrangement, they established a new operating entity, Entertainment City Resorts Corporation (ECRC), which now oversees the project.
ECRC’s ownership reflects the revised balance of power. Alliance Global Group holds 50 percent of the company. The remaining 50 percent belongs to Westside Bayshore Holding Corporation (WBHC), another newly formed entity. Within WBHC, Travellers owns a 60 percent stake, while Suntrust retains the other 40 percent.
This layered structure gives Alliance Global Group and Travellers a combined 80 percent economic interest in the overall development. In addition to that majority stake, Travellers has been designated to take on operational control of the integrated resort once construction concludes. The company will manage day-to-day functions across gaming, hospitality, and entertainment when Westside Resort begins welcoming guests.
In a social media update issued Friday, the group confirmed that management responsibilities now sit with ECRC and formally introduced the Westside Resort name. The post characterized the shift as a turning point for the project’s direction. “This marks an exciting new chapter as we align our operations to deliver a world-class entertainment and hospitality experience in the heart of Entertainment City,” it said, according to Inside Asian Gaming.
Ownership Realignment and Project Direction
The renaming signals more than a branding adjustment. It reflects the broader restructuring that followed the transfer of control from Suntrust to the Travellers and Alliance Global Group partnership. While Suntrust remains involved through its 40 percent holding in WBHC, the new framework places primary influence in the hands of the Philippine-based conglomerate and its hospitality arm.
Under this arrangement, Travellers’ future role extends beyond shareholding. The company will oversee operations at Westside Resort once the property opens, drawing on its experience running Newport World Resorts. The emphasis on operational continuity appears aimed at reassuring stakeholders as the development moves through its remaining construction phases.
Management indicated that the revised setup will help keep the project on track after earlier setbacks under the previous configuration. The third-quarter 2026 completion target remains in place, and the group reiterated its focus on meeting that deadline.
In its public statement, the company also addressed the continuity of its service ambitions despite the ownership changes. “While our management has evolved, our commitment to excellence remains steadfast. We look forward to welcoming guests, partners and new team members to Westside Resort.”
Focus on 2026 Completion
With ECRC now formally responsible for oversight, attention turns to executing the final stages of development. The US$1.25 billion integrated resort forms part of Manila’s competitive Entertainment City district, where several major gaming and hospitality properties already operate.
The newly adopted Westside Resort brand establishes a distinct identity as the project advances toward opening. Alliance Global Group’s 50 percent stake in ECRC and Travellers’ majority holding within WBHC consolidate effective control between the two firms, positioning them to steer the property’s launch strategy.
For now, the immediate objective remains construction progress under the revised governance structure. As Westside Resort approaches its planned 3Q26 debut, its owners have framed the rebranding and management transition as steps intended to support timely delivery and stable operations within one of the Philippines’ key entertainment hubs.
