Penn Entertainment plans to open a new hotel tower at Hollywood Casino Columbus on June 12, expanding the property’s hospitality offerings and adding hundreds of rooms to the gaming destination. The launch remains subject to standard regulatory approvals.

The addition introduces a 203-room hotel as part of a large expansion at the casino complex on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. Guests will gain access to modern accommodations and several new amenities designed to complement the property’s existing gaming and dining options.

Reservations for the hotel are scheduled to begin April 15 through the Hollywood Casino Columbus website. The company also plans a public celebration on opening day that will include an outdoor festival and live concert.

New Hotel Tower Expands Property Amenities

The new structure will span roughly 150,000 square feet and include both standard accommodations and larger suites. Of the 203 rooms, 183 will be standard guestrooms, while 20 will be luxury suites.

Visitors staying at the property will have access to additional facilities within the tower. These include The Hill Eatery & Lounge, a full-service bar and restaurant located inside the building. The development also contains conference rooms, a fitness center, and an outdoor terrace designed for guest seating.

Penn Entertainment expects the expansion to strengthen the property’s role in the regional entertainment market. In a company statement, CEO and President Jay Snowden said, “We’re thrilled to officially announce the opening date for our new hotel at Columbus, which positions us to be the top entertainment destination in the region.”

Snowden also highlighted the project as part of a broader period of development for the company. He added, “This opening will mark our third retail development project to be completed in under a year, building on the momentum from our new casino in Joliet and second hotel tower at the M Resort.”

Job Creation and Opening Celebrations

The new hotel is expected to create approximately 100 jobs in the Columbus area. Positions will focus on hotel operations and guest services as the property prepares to welcome overnight visitors.

To fill those roles, Hollywood Casino Columbus will organize two hiring events. Job fairs for hotel staff positions are scheduled for March 27 and April 10. Penn Entertainment also plans a large public celebration on June 12 to mark the opening. The festivities will include an outdoor festival and a concert held on the property.

The hotel tower represents one of several recent developments at the casino. In addition to lodging and hospitality features, the property is preparing to expand its gaming areas. Hollywood Casino Columbus plans to add a larger high-limit table games room during the second half of 2026, pending the required regulatory approvals.

Part of a Broader Expansion Strategy

The Columbus hotel project forms part of a wider series of investments by Penn Entertainment across the United States. The company has been developing new properties and expanding existing ones over the past year. In 2025, Penn opened a new land-based casino in Joliet, Illinois. That same year, it completed a second hotel tower at M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas.

More developments are already scheduled. Penn expects to open a new Hollywood Casino Aurora property in Illinois during the second quarter of this year. The company also plans a land-based casino project in Council Bluffs, Iowa, with a projected opening in late 2027 or early 2028.

Hollywood Casino Columbus itself operates around the clock and sits just off Interstate 270 on the city’s west side. The facility includes about 160,000 square feet of gaming space featuring slot machines, table games, a retail sportsbook, and what the company describes as the largest poker room in Ohio. The property also provides a variety of dining venues and more than 16,000 square feet of event and banquet space used for meetings and gatherings.

Penn Entertainment operates casinos, racetracks, and online gaming platforms across 27 jurisdictions in North America. The company’s portfolio includes retail casinos as well as digital sports betting and iCasino products, supported by its customer loyalty program, PENN Play, which has more than 33 million members.
