ELK Studios has brought one of its long-running slot characters back to familiar territory with Wild Toro 3, a new release that returns Toro to Spain ahead of the 10-year anniversary of the original Wild Toro.
The latest slot follows Toro after previous adventures across settings such as Egypt, Asgard, Rome, and Japan. This time, the bull reunites with his nephews, Los Toritos, and trains them to continue his rivalry with the Matador. The setup keeps the series’ familiar bull-versus-matador theme while adding new mechanics, an expanded grid, a separate bonus round, and two volatility modes.
Wild Toro 3 is played on 5 reels and 4 rows by default, with 178 paylines. Certain features can expand the grid up to 7 rows and increase the number of paylines to 421. The game offers a maximum win of 25,000x the bet and a default RTP of 96.00%, although lower RTP versions are also available.
Players can choose stakes from 0.20 to 100, and the game supports play across desktop, smartphone, and tablet devices.
Toro, Toritos and Matadors Drive the Base Game
Wild Toro 3 keeps the walking wild system central to gameplay. Toro appears only on reel 5 as a walking wild. Once he lands, he moves left across the grid, awarding respins and increasing his multiplier with each step until he leaves the reels.
Los Toritos appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 as sticky wilds. When one lands, it expands the grid by one row and awards a respin. If Toro is also present, each Torito has a different function. The blue Torito adds wilds to random positions, the green Torito doubles Toro’s multiplier, and the red Torito adds Toro’s multiplier to itself.
Matadors also work as walking wilds and can land on reels 2, 3, and 4. They move left with each respin. When Toro and one or more Matadors appear together, the Toro Goes Loco feature begins. Toro charges across the grid, knocks out the Matadors, and leaves wild symbols behind.
Different Matadors affect the feature in separate ways. Brave Matadors leave tall multiplier wilds below their positions before Toro charges, while Coward Matadors move toward the edge of the grid and extend Toro’s trail.
Day and Night Modes Change the Volatility
The game includes two volatility settings. Day mode offers normal or medium volatility, while Night mode increases the volatility level. Players can switch between the two modes through the sun and moon toggle near the grid.
Night mode also allows the Midnight Bullfight feature to trigger. During this feature, tall multiplier wilds can cover up to 5 reels. This adds a more aggressive version of the base game for players who prefer higher volatility.
The symbol set includes bronze, silver, and gold coins as lower-paying symbols, while grapes, cactus, oranges, and red roses sit among the higher-paying symbols. Five matching premium symbols can pay up to 5x the bet. Wilds substitute for regular paying symbols, and a line made entirely of wilds pays as the highest-value symbol.
The Golden Rose Bonus begins when Toro collects a Golden Rose in the base game. During the feature, Toro becomes a 2×2 symbol on a 7×5 grid. Golden Roses, Toritos, Matadors, and blank symbols can then land.
As stated on the company’s website, Toro starts with 3 lives. Each spin uses one life, but landing a Matador restores the lives to 3. Toro moves toward Matadors and collects Golden Roses along his path. Golden Roses carry instant prize values, while knocked-out Matadors contribute to a multiplier meter.
Every 3 Matador tokens double the global multiplier, which starts at x1. When Toro clears the Matadors, the values collected on that spin are multiplied before the next spin begins.
The Toritos also play specific roles in the bonus round. The blue Torito can add more Golden Roses or increase existing values. The green Torito doubles the values of selected Golden Roses. The red Torito collects the values of all Golden Roses on the grid and turns into a Golden Rose carrying the combined amount.
Wild Toro 3 also includes ELK Studios’ X-iter menu. Players can select Bonus Hunt at 2.5x the bet for more than triple the chance of triggering the bonus, Mega Hunt at 5x for more than six times the chance, Toro Goes Loco at 25x, the regular bonus at 100x, or a 250x option for the Day Super Bonus or Night Midnight Bullfight.
