Aristocrat Gaming has marked two developments in Las Vegas, with a player winning more than $5 million on Dragon Link at ARIA Resort & Casino and Rio Hotel & Casino opening a dedicated gaming room featuring the supplier’s slot titles.

The jackpot occurred on October 14, when an anonymous Las Vegas resident placed a $50 wager on a $1 denomination Dragon Link machine in ARIA’s high-limit gaming room.

The payout marked the first time a player had claimed the $5 million-plus grand prize since Aristocrat introduced its new linked progressive games in July 2026.

ARIA and Aristocrat announced the historic payout on October 16, confirming that the winning player had secured the progressive jackpot on one of the casino’s recently installed machines.

The new $5 million links debuted in July, with installations across MGM Resorts properties including ARIA, Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

ARIA President and Chief Operating Officer Sean Lanni welcomed the milestone:

“Our guests come here expecting the extraordinary and, this week, we delivered on that promise by paying our lucky winner more than $5 million,” said Lanni.

Lanni also highlighted the company’s relationship with Aristocrat and expressed interest in further gaming opportunities involving the supplier.

As published by MGM Resorts International, Aristocrat Gaming CEO Craig Toner said the payout demonstrated the potential of the high-limit progressive format.

“This is exactly the kind of moment we envisioned when we introduced the $5 million links. A jackpot of this magnitude underscores the excitement and potential of these premium experiences. We’re thrilled to see the very first $5 million win happen here at ARIA.”

The linked jackpot games were introduced as part of Aristocrat’s premium casino offering, allowing participating properties to feature progressive prizes reaching $5 million.

The Cosmopolitan was among the first venues to receive the installations, including linked Dragon Link machines and a separate progressive arrangement involving Phoenix Link and Lightning 10 Year Storm.

The ARIA win represents the first award of the new top prize following the summer rollout.

Rio Opens Gaming Space for Dragon Link and Phoenix Link

Rio Hotel & Casino has introduced Dragon Lair, a dedicated gaming area showcasing two of Aristocrat’s established slot franchises.

Located on the main casino floor, the new room replaces the property’s former poker space and provides a setting specifically designed around Dragon Link and Phoenix Link games.

“Dragon Lair brings together compelling game content and an exciting environment to create an all-new destination on Rio’s buzzing casino floor,” said Rod Turlan, President and General Manager of Rio Hotel & Casino.

“This continued collaboration with Aristocrat Gaming reflects our dedicated focus on introducing fresh experiences that give guests even more reasons to discover the new Rio.”

Both game families developed from the Lightning Link format, incorporating recognisable bonus mechanics and themed graphics.

Dragon Link features Hold & Spin gameplay, with an Orb symbol that triggers the feature across different titles in the series.

Phoenix Link introduces variations on the same mechanic, including scaling Grand and Major Jackpots. Its Free Games rounds can also award Wild Multipliers or Twin Spins.

The machines support multiple denominations, allowing players to select different betting levels.

By placing both collections in one area, Rio has created a specialised slot room within its existing casino offering.

The opening of Dragon Lair reflects Aristocrat’s collaboration with casino operators on gaming environments featuring its established products.
