Visiting a casino after being placed on the self-exclusion list is certainly prohibited, but it does not stop players from doing so. Daniel Hoagland placed herself on the self-exclusion list in Pennsylvania for a five year time frame. When adding your name to the list, visiting the casino is not allowed. The list is usually used for problem gamblers and with a name on the list, the player cannot win money or receive incentives as they is considered illegal.
Hoagland recently visited the Mount Airy Casino and on early Monday morning, managed to win $3,041 while playing an unknown game. Once it was realized that she was on the self-exclusion list, Hoagland was cited for criminal trespass and was forced to forfeit her winnings. The winnings will go towards the Compulsive and Problem Gambling Treatment fund.
