The Quinault Beach Resort Casino (QBRC), located on the north coast of Washington State on the Olympic Peninsula, has announced a US $25 million expansion. Construction will begin in March and will employ more than 100 people with additional jobs being added at the resort for residents once the project is completed. QBRC already employs more that 1200 tribal and non-tribal locals – the largest employer in Grays Harbor County.

QBRC is entering its sixteenth year of operation, and only recently paid off the debt that funded the original construction. The planned expansion follows the completion of a recent 159-room remodel of the resort hotel – where most rooms have spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

An active member of the Ocean Shores community, Quinault Indian Nation President Fawn Sharp announced that the expansion includes a badly needed, first ever Tsunami evacuation shelter for the North Beach area – in the form of a 500 car, 4-story parking garage. Additionally, the casino floor space will increase seventy percent, and the resort will add food service, two additional bars, and a combined gift and coffee shop.

Within the QBRC press release, Don Kajans, General Manager of Quinault Beach Resort & Casino stated, “I am excited that the Quinault Nation will continue to expand its properties. This expansion project not only allows us to employ more locals, it will also help us to bring more people to the area. It’s good for the resort, good for Quinault and good for Ocean Shores. And our patrons will love the changes.”
